Reduction of Pub Opening Hours Proposal

Following on from Covid discussion thread about pubs...
Reduce pub opening hours to what they were in the olden days or less.
Weekdays:
11am-2pm lunchtime sitting.
5.30pm-11pm evening sitting
Saturdays and Sundays
11am-11pm
Night-clubs
Monday to Thursday
9.00pm-1.00am
Friday-Saturday and Sunday
8.00pm-3.30am
Maybe all the feckless dole wallers of the New Labour era would go and get jobs if they couldn't sit in pubs all day.

Obviously, the disturbance you experience, isn't great though.

I don't think people living in the cushty rural countryside understand what an absolute pain living near inner city pubs is for people.Obviously, the disturbance you experience, isn't great though.

Who came first the pub of the person. Because if you choose to live near a pub can you really complain. The world is grim enough and feeling like its getting worse every day as it is without wanting to curtail the only enjoyment people might get in their lives.
Granted I'm one of those rural living folks so this phenomenon is not something I experience, but I tend to feel like this is one of those things where a fraction of people are annoyed for a short period of time vs a load of people are enjoying what little social enjoyment you can find nowadays.

Why put a blanket closure on all pubs?
The ones that are a problem are known and should be targeted.
Tighter enforcement and license suspension should be used more. Mind you, it can help in localising late night trouble spots that can be watched and policed closer. There are a couple of these late night trouble spots in our town. The police can wait outside for the idiots to start. Trouble is the pubs let them in, allow them to drink more and start trouble then throw them out for others to deal with.

There's other benefits to living in the city centre and of course the job prospects issue for folk in the middle of nowhere who don't drive are other issues.Edited by The Spruce Goose on Friday 25th September 16:01

It's a sad state of affairs if the pub is the only enjoyment in your life sorry! It's like people who make a massive deal about not having had an alcoholic drink for a month, this shouldn't be that big of a big deal, if it is, you probably have a problem!
Before I get accused of being the fun police, I used to run a pub and my plan is to retire and run a small village pub one day, I have nothing against pubs or booze in general, I have a problem with people getting a s
tfaced as possible on a regular basis being seen as an acceptable national pastime! 
This just sounds like the same argument as people that move close to Alton Towers and complain about the noise and fireworks, or people that move next to airports and complain about planes landing at all hours.
This has been the same ever since I was a lad going out drinking 25 years ago, you dont need to live in the middle of the town centre, you can always live slightly out of town where you wont have this issue, surely something you should have considered when moving to the area.
