Audi A3 Sportback vs Saloon Depreciation
Discussion
I'm trying to decide between buying a used Audi A3 Saloon or Sportback.
I prefer the look of the Saloon but I appreciate the Sportback is more practical and also seems a lot more popular on the roads.
Do you think there will be a difference in depreciation given the fact that the Sportback is more popular?
It seems like the prices of the 2016/17 models I'm looking at are quite similar between Saloon and Sportback, despite the saloon costing more to begin with.
I'm concerned the saloon depreciates quicker and is more difficult to sell on than the Sportback.

Saloon has a bigger boot unless you remove the parcel shelf on the sportback and stack to the rear window.
Even as a Sportback owner I prefer the look of the Saloon but needed the practicality of the big rear opening.
I'd expect the Sportback to do slightly better in depreciation but as another poster said, just buy what you prefer.
No reason to buy diesel unless you do mega miles and don't have any ULEZ concerns. The 1.4 petrols are smooth and torquey and it's not hard to get 40mpg+.
