Vauxhall XE 16v can be mounted to a Ford Type 9 (Sierra) using a bellhousing from Caterham or Westfield. Or you could just use an Opel Manta 5 speed.

K Series was used by Caterham, again, speak to their parts dept for a bellhousing.

I have seen Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 engines used in Sylva Striker kit cars, using Ford Type 9 gearbox also, but not sur about bellhousings.

Ford Zetec bolts straight up to Type 9 or MT75 I think

Anything can bolt to anything if you use a bellhousing conversion plate

Obviously made easier if the appropriate clutch friction plate for the gearbox is the same diameter as the pressure plate for the engine

Don't forget the Toyota 4AGE in 16V or 20V both easily mated to a type 9 GBX. The 20Vs come with individual throttle bodies saving £100s on the induction mods.

There are also Toyota RWD boxes which can be used with them instead.
