Denon's own SC-M41 at 100 bucks, or spend a little more on, I dunno, some variety of Wharfdale Diamonds maybe? Smallish, good sound, not too dear would be the watchwords. Thanks for any ideas.

Have you looked at Q Acoustics range? I’ve got some with my mini Denon system and think they sound great.

I bought some Dali Spektor 2's recently. They had good reviews and were under £200 from Richer sounds. Very happy with them so far, and better than the Teac ones they replaced.

I have the older DM39 in the workshop, and recently got a used pair of Mordaunt Short Aviano 2 for it.

The sound bloody good, and nice and bassy (although not overtly so when set right) even in the huge 4 bay workshop biggrin

Previous to the MS Avianos it was running a pair of Gale 3010s that weren't too bad, but couldn't fill the workshop

I've got 3 of these in 39 to 41 flavours, in various rooms/garages, and the speakers I've got are Q Acoustics 3020, Acoustic Energy Aegis 1, and a pair of B&W 601S3.

All sound fine to my ears

I've got three too, oldest being a '31.

Workshop one uses a pair of Denon speakers, made by Mission I think.
Study unit has a pair of Quad L-ites.
The one in the kitchen/diner uses a single Monitor Audio stereo ceiling speaker.

They all work well.

If I were you, I’d get myself a pair of Monitor Audio Bronze 2s, they can be found for <£200 online and when fully run in they sound amazing.
