But chickens can't fly - how did it get up to windscreen height - trampolining?
Reminds me of the story of the Belgians checking the impact resistance of their trains, so they borrowed the launching mechanism and the impact test procedure used by a jet engine manufacturer, who would lob speedy (dead) chickens through the engines to prove birdstrike resistance. The belgians had problems with the chickens punching a hole straight through the drivers cab, until someone pointed out that they were supposed to defrost them first...

actually they can fly sort of, and very briefly, if the incentive is right (if youve ever seen a chicken running from a fox they can achieve 8-10ft briefly). in this case the incentive was surely to catch a glimpse of the creature making that wonderful mid-engined roar....

Recall hearing/reading about some RAF pilots in WW2 who tried to solve a bet about whether chickens could fly by taking a couple up to several thousand feet and chucking them out of the cockpit. Maybe this chicken had suffered a similar fate and was still on the way down when it got boxsterised?
