I’ve got a Superstock1000 bike that I bought directly from the team that I’ve used on track for the past few years. I’ve really enjoyed using it and it’s amazing what a well built bike can do for confidence / speed. As a Superstock bike it’s much closer to a road bike than a full fat BSB bike though.
Are you buying this as an ornament, or to race? If you’re buying it for trackdays then unless you’re an extremely good rider it probably isn’t worth the pain. You’ll struggle with passing noise tests and the bike will be a handful with no electronic aids, the need to be all over engine refreshes, super exotic (and expensive) parts to replace regularly and the power available won’t be easily accessed.

Looks nice that, I think I've seen it in the paddock at a couple of rounds I went to.Are you buying this as an ornament, or to race? A mate of mine owns Richard Coopers ex BSB ZX 10, we're at Oulton next week so should have some fun

Richard Cooper signing the bike for him.

Another mate owns Tommy Aquino's spare and unused that season BSB superstock ZX 10
The superstock bike is faster around the track due to it being easier to use than a full fat BSB bike.

Poor Tommy, such a tragic accident, took away a proper talented and nice guy. Richard Cooper signing the bike for him.

Out of interest, what are the exotic and expensive parts that they can run on the Superstock bikes? Are you buying this as an ornament, or to race? Mate of mine has both an ex-BSB and a world endurance bike. Both now road registered...
ZX10 may even have been run on cut slicks, and on the pit limiter in 30 zones...
Any chance you could get some pics of the WEC bike?? ZX10 may even have been run on cut slicks, and on the pit limiter in 30 zones...
I love the thinking and engineering that goes into those machines!!
There's a few for sale here if anyone's after one: http://www.racing-motorcycles.co.uk/forsale.php
Like Simon says, most BSB super bikes are properly difficult to ride as their window is quite high and with no TC, they'd spit off most people quite quickly
WSBK's are much more user friendly as they have all the electronics, but you still need to be half handy with a laptop to get them set up for each track, and as they have loads of very nice little bling bits, they are bloody expensive - The last WSBK spec bike I saw for sale was a satellite ZX10R from the 19 season, and that was circa Eu90k from memory
BSB Superstock1000 bikes are always about for sale, but the BSB rules don't let you do much to them, so a lot of trackbikes are better spec'd
I saw one of Scott Redding's PBM V4R's for sale a few months ago, and that was up for circa Eu150k from memory

I wonder how many minutes that engine has spent not on the redline??
We worked on a great little project, a guy who bought 2 or 3 of the Ilmor MotoGP bikes, wanted to put a different motor in it as they didnt sell the engines, we worked on putting the SXV 550 Aprilia engine, which we supplied, and the owner who was a decent engineer in his own right, did the hard work. The project stalled due to cash, and i dont know what happened to the bike, but it would have been awesome to ride.
