Any ideas what this could be from?

I can't see anything on flight radar.

Poor pic but you get the idea.

Would a dc-10 or tristar make trails like this?
Is there still any of them flying?

I think in-service Tristars are few and far between, but the MD11, which was effectively a much upgraded DC10 remain in service, notably for freight services in particular.

At that altitude to produce contrails it must be 3 separate aircraft flying together.

Whilst there are many factors (e.g. fuel, speed, ambient temp). The density of the contrails and the spacing points to 3x fast-jets as previous.
