Shots all round, MPs bar can stay open past 10pm
Discussion
One rule and trebles all round and all that !
The Times is now reporting the mps bars have been classified as workplace canteens and therefore do not need to close !
Shot in the foot might be the case !

Meanwhile here’s some of last years menus for dining.

You need to remember that these are the people that voted to give themselves, and only themselves, the right to break the sex discrimination legislation with impunity.
As well as a significant pay rise during an austerity programme that saw most public sector incomes fall in real terms, not that long after they were shown to have abused an expenses system for extensive personal gain. It does not inspire confidence in those that reach governing positions, but I think it twas ever thus.
This is no different to successive governments awarding themselves big pay rises, whilst limiting what the rest of the country is allowed to have as a pay rise.
Apparently the MP`s bar has been described as a works canteen which allows it to stay open all the time, Wonder if we can re designate our local pubs as canteens!

So whilst this makes a good headline, surely the issue is the working conditions and processes of the HoC?
All the differences observed between MPs and basically every other job is because of their unique way of working.
I think this needs to be understood more, and critiqued as part of a wider reform, rather than just getting upset about this specific instance if hypocrisy.
Of course, who would the MPs allow to review them?
Hmm, a task force made up of MPs perhaps. Lets see: they're going to need additional staff (the wife, the newphew etc) additional office space (second home), generous travel expenses, and of course as they'll be working late, unhindered access to the "staff canteen"

And such reasonable prices...
Nice to know we're subsidising this so poor, hungry MPs can get a hot meal after a busy and productive day

ks (no disrespect intended
).There are plenty of jobs that have at least the same type of working processes as MPs, and plenty that have much more in terms of "antisocial working practices", and they all have to conform.
There is on need for it IMO.
When it 100% contravenes what the rest of us have to put up with, they need to get a grip and do the same themselves.

They have plenty of actual restaurants/canteens on the HoP estate, so the bars don't need to be open after 10.All the differences observed between MPs and basically every other job is because of their unique way of working.
