Audi s5 4.2 v8

Morning everyone, browsing ebay for cars last night as you do and I see that s5's are comfortably attainable for under 10k now. Seems alot of car for the money to me and I'm curious if theres a particular reason or fault that explains the price. I'm interested in the 4.2 v8 and my budget seems to dictate 2007 -2008 ish. I guess the large engine partly explains the depreciation but I'm interested to know of any regular issues they suffer, general running costs etc. Not my normal type of car but I'm itching to scratch the v8 itch while the chance is there and this is an interesting option. Thanks everyone.
I drove one a few years back for a couple of hours and really wanted to like it as it looked the part, was well made and specced, and the engine really is lovely. However, the drive let it down for me and it felt too big and heavy with disconnected steering, crashy ride and an awful manual gearbox. Funnily the owner agreed and was looking forward to the day the company would replace it!

I looked at these for quite a while and I was really tempted by them. I think they still look brilliant and they can sound great with an aftermarket exhaust too.
As far as I know they are quite reliable. Its a relatively unstressed engine as its naturally aspirated. There is a thread on here of someone who is running one and he said that the previous owner had spent a lot of money trying to solve a rattle but I think that was more a case of a garage taking advantage as he seemed to solve it quite easily. There was also a brave pill thread but quite a few people agreed in the comments that it shouldn't have been one as it seems low risk: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=18...
They can suffer with carbon buildup which clogs up the engine a little and can reduce power. Its easily solved with a carbon clean. There should be plenty of information on here and on google in relation to price and how often to do it. Also, I don't think the clutch was the strongest on the manual so that is probably worth checking out. Otherwise all I can think of is the obvious stuff like £570 a year tax, low teens MPG etc.
