Wireless subwoofer keeps dropping out...
Discussion
Hi All
I recently purchased a Sony HTZF9 Sound Bar that came with a wireless sub, I also purchased 2 wireless rear speakers from the same series to complete my 5.1 setup.
I had the system hooked up to a projector for a few weeks, before re-hooking it up to a brand new Sony LED TV - not top of the range but still a fairly new set.
For the first 30 days (typically) I didn't seem to have any issues at all, however, I noticed a few weeks ago that every now and then, the sub would momentarily cut out (for half a second or so), which is highly irritating when you're watching a film.
When this first occurred, I had binged a film trilogy, all of which were Blu Rays from the same set, so I presumed they were lazily optimized for 5.1.
The sub dropping out has become more and more frequent, and it doesn't seem to matter whether I am playing a game, watching a film, streaming media - it always cuts at some point.
I did try a system reset on the soundbar but that hasn't worked.
The sub is positioned half a foot from the soundbar.
After some googling, the only advice I see to get is that it is too many devices in the vicinity affecting the wireless transmission of the sub.
Currently, it's just the TV, Sound System, and PS4, so I don't really believe that it could be wireless interference and if it is, it's a pretty poor showing from Sony if they think a TV and a PS4 is too many devices to have near a soundbar.
Has anyone got any ideas what could be causing the drop out other than interference?
Shall I bite the bullet and start a returns procedure?
I'm moving houses soon and where I plan to have this soundbar is going to be in a location with around 6 devices hooked up.
