Tusc2/Sagaris at Goodwood
Discussion
It was good to see the Tusc Convertable and Sagaris at Goodwood but nobody could be bothered to give them a wash and polish after being driven to the event.
You obviously couldn't tell at distance on the track but they were facing the lambos in the paddock so they weren't looking their best.
A small minor detail I know but at a major event like that you might of thought it was worth the trouble

We didn't arrive til early afternoon, and while trying to find out which car park to go to, ended up going through gate number 4. In the corner of a field, which I guess wasn't far from the start line, was a Sagaris under a cover...
No idea why it was there, but first thoughts were that it was a spare in case the blue show one in the paddock had issues over the weekend - anybody any the wiser?

They were dirty when they ARRIVED, and the saggy had a scraped front spoiler. I got there at 07:00 on Friday, all the other cars were being cleaned.
You sad bunch of F***wits! What would you be moaning about if they hadn't been there? Better still, what would you be pathetically whinging about if they were cleaned!! I don't here you complaining about the loverly clean Maserati that never even moved all Friday!
I am now about to sign off Piston_tvr negative_Heads.....goodbye

Some good points really - yes it was good that they managed to get some cars down there, but equally - why weren't they cleaned and why wasn't somebody with them? I went last year and had an enjoyable chat with some scruffy chap - who you could have argued wasn't very professional, but at least he was there and (in childrens tv presenter-esque) "keeping it real", rather than some pretentious so and so.

Must admit I agree with Graphic. You sad muppets.
Then again you probably all keep you cars clean and polished whereas I might spent an hr once a month cleaning mine.
But it wasn't your car on show nor mine - it was the factory EXHIBITING a car. What impression does that give, "we couldn't be @rsed cleaning it, but it'll be alright underneath".
As for no-one to talk to?! Amateurish.

Impression to who though? Anybody serious about buying a Sagaris isnt going to care about whether it is dirty or not. They might do about a Tuscan 2, but then the less T2's they sell the better in my humble.
it's about principle though - the fact that it's dirty isn't going to ruin anybody's life (not short term anyway).
For exmaple I've got a bit of dough and I like nice/fast cars with no particular loyalty. Whilst having a nosy at the cars in the Saggy area I spot a shabby unattended Sag. No problem, it's only a bit of dirt!......
12 months down the line "mmmm, I fancy a new car"...
I doubt a Sag is going to spring to mind if the lazy B*****s cant be @rsed cleaning it, or even offering help to anyone looking at it.
At the end of the day - first impressions count - you wouldn't go for a job interview unshaven and wearing the clothes you clean the car in would you - why not it's only dirt?!

I Said exactly the same thing to the wife, even though she had been on the Champus. OK the Tuscan had just travelled back from Le mans, but no excuse in my book. All other cars were imaculate. Did you notice the crowds next to the Marcos????,(nice piece of kit) and lack of next to the TIVs. Did you also notice the lack of representation from TVR in general. No TVRCC or factory presence, bit poor IMHO.

Well it's already been said - the Marcos isn't too disimilar in looks is it? I personally quite like it (although put off slightly by the fact it 'looks' like several different cars (TVR-Aston-ratti)). But if comes down something that has had love and pride go into designing, making, marketing and selling it.......
Anyway, it's been mentioned before - it's the little things. You're only as strong as your weakest link.
With regards to the factory presence - presumably this is something the recently departed (much loved) PJ should have sorted out. Now there's no point in saying he left before the show.... he only left a few weeks before the show - arrangements for something like this should be made months in advance.

Must admit it's not a big deal but you wouldn't see a TVR (or another manufacturers cars) at the NEC/Earls Court Motorshow looking like this. So why Goodwood?
First thing my otherhalf said (who coincidentaly works for Porsche) when looking at the T2 was "you'd have thought they would have cleaned it!"
Saying that the Orange coloured Sagaris elsewhere did look good.
I guess the main thing is that they were there and the Sagaris seemed to generate a lot of interest. Lots of people were photographing it when I was wandering around.

The point is most TVR fans as I am are dead keen for TVR to do well.
There is many a post on here on how many opportunites TVR miss by turning its back on such a loyal following of Fans.
I too took a keen interest in the Marcos as I am wavering. Is it a T350 or a TSO next.
After all if the Sag driver had offered me a run up the hill as a passenger I'd of cleaned the bloody thing myself, probably with the pistonheads tea shirt I was wearing (sorry Ted)
