Evening - new to all this! Looking after a 94’ VR6 Corrado which the owner has had from new. 60k on the clock and in great condition. Always been to VW garage but I’m sure they now perhaps don’t have the skills to diagnose and fix issues?! Live in Hampshire and looking for a recommended specialist to take it to - as now it’s misfiring and dropping power periodically.
Any help or direction would be appreciated! Thanks, Rich

Usual suspect used to be the coilpack on the VR6's. But it could be a number of things. HT leads, plugs, split in the breather hose etc.
Bit of a drive, but Stealth Racing are the place to go for VR6's.

Cheers, appreciate response 👍🏻
All six HT leads been replaced and temperature sensor but that’s it. Noted on the other items...
Yep, Stealth Racing quite a trek! Do you know what The Phirm are like?

Not sure. But JKM Motor Services are good. Did a lot of work on my car through the previous owner.

Not sure where in Hampshire you are, but The Phirm are absolute experts in VWs and looked after my Corrado VR6 for years and still look after Corrados today - I was down there in my Golf R recently and they had a Corrado in and I got all misty-eyed.

They are right next to Blackwater train station, and with easy access to the M3 (J4 or J4a).

Edit: And, yes, it is probably the coil pack.

Another recommendation for the phirm. What Tim and his staff don't know about VWs isn't worth knowing. Their prices are fair too.

Cheers Clockwork cupcake! Have called and have an appointment with them. Likewise Tomsugden, thanks for recommendation.
Looking forward to getting it running smoothly again.

This - when I had my Corrado VR6 The Phirm used to look after me.

They were based in Thursley at the time- I think they moved to Winchfield/Hook area

Yes, they moved to an industrial estate on the A30 between Hook and Phoenix Green, and then after a while moved again to the location next to the train station at Blackwater that I mentioned in my post, which is their current location.

Yes, all went well. Coil pack as people expected. The team at JKM did a great job and turned it round in one day and now running like a dream!
Thanks
