Good quality peacoat.

I fancy a double breasted peacoat for winter. I've never had one before but am prepared to invest in a decent one.

Any recommendations? Are Private White any good?

I looked at Scott.

Does yours have a logo? I am not keen on logos.

The leather one has an embroidered logo, black stitching on black leather, the wool one doesn't have a logo externally.

Burberry is on the list of possibilities, actually, yes.

By far and away my best one (and still going strong) is my Stone Island David TC one in black wool. Badge can be unbuttoned if you don't need to visit the terraces or sell drugs.

My leather one is 1994 vintage. It was a present to myself the year i started Uni. Gets a slather of leather honey every couple of years and is still in great condition. You can get ones with a white/red Schott logo or with it in black stitching. The logo on mine is the latter, small and dark so hardly discernible.

Quite fancy a woollen one and if the quality is half as good as their leather work it should last decades.

I do like the look of the Schott ones, but am concerned that I would look like a doorman or someone about to repossess your car.

All of which said, I am very stocky so perhaps Schott is the way to go.

Donkey jackets are single breasted and have faux leather shoulder patches. So no, not really.

Though I did used to wear a donkey jacket in the 1980s. It went very nicely with my flat top haircut.
