I have a Dell Inspirion 13 7000 2 in 1 and recently i've noticed the following:

After boot up, pressing the ctrl of shift keys results in a strange beep, that changes in pitch and duration each time I press the keyboard. This can be before logging in or after and goes away completely after around 10 seconds.

It's only 4 months old so under warranty, though so far their steps to fix have been fruitless, I know I can get it fixed by sending it back, id just rather see if anyone here has experienced the same or similar and knows a fix?

i've uploaded a video here if anyone can help:

You’ve put sticky keys on. Press shift 5 times it should go off again.

Just tested on my Dell, pressing shift 5 times makes the noise start, pressing 5 times again and it goes away.

thanks all.

your pointers took me in the right direction, it seemed that even when i disabled sticky keys it was on after a reboot. i went into settings and disabled all sounds and all is well again.

cheers guys
