COVID19 NHS App Alert advice ?

Hi,

Family member who is a student in halls and has not been out of the flat since Tues has had an app alert overnight from the NHS app. It says "You need to self isolate until 7th Oct 2020 at 23:59"

I've seen the screenshot and underneath the above text there is a countdown style timer that says 7 days to go ...

We are confused - as the guidance on NHS says the app will advise to self isolate for 14 days.

I read there were some error alerts sent yesterday. Could this also be an error / false alert from the app ?

If not and genuine - why does it say 7 days and not 14?

Crazy I think - People willingly download an application to their device that tells them what to do.
