My Z1000 ,new in Sept. 2003 developed an intermittent misfire when about 2 months old which fairly rapidly snowballed to the point the bike was unstartable , or at least unridable.

It took the dealer 2 whole months to believe I had a fault , even though it was twice delivered to them by the RAC  , and then a further 3months to fix it :shoot::rage:. Ok , not too bad it was over winter.

Now , I've just scraped back from Le Mans , and the symptoms are returning,And there are 9 weeks warranty left.

The dealer assures me that as I have notified them of a problem , it will be covered by the warranty regardless of when they can actually detect the intermittent fault. Is he stringing me along ?

I am going to fire a mail of to Kawa customer services , is there anything else I ought to do to cover my back ?

Wouldn't hurt to fire off a letter to CAB, copied to Kawasaki and the dealers - for good measure and just to record the time at which you've reported the problem.

Just make sure you keep visiting them, telling them it has happened again, just to keep it fresh in their minds.

Yep. How much fun was it being on two wheels on the way back? I lost count of how many £100K cars I overtook on my £3K bike.

We shot off ahead from our load-carrying mates at Caen, on the way down. We arrived a full 90 minutes ahead of them and armed with a roll of yellow tape, found a pitch in Annexe.

My Aprilia is a bit poorly. It has been showing low oil pressure although, fingers crossed, this is just a dodgy sender which I have replaced. It is in bits at the moment as last night I pulled the clutch apart.

I took the RSV last year and had a chase with an Audi RS6 on the Caen-Cherbourg road. I've never seen a car go from 100 to 150 so quickly. Instead of leaving it in sixth I had to change down to fifth to keep closing on him. Damn fast car and to think you could fit a wardrobe in the back.

As for overtaking supercars, you could have passed almost as many of them on a pushbike with the horrendous queues heading to Alencon. Also, there is a village south of Sees with a set of traffic lights. This produced a queue about 3 miles long into the village. A colleague who sat in that queue said some cars were trying to filter past the traffic, with a couple of close moments.

Good luck with your bike. Hope it is OK over the summer.
