Bought a new M2C late January 2019 was serviced @ 1200 mile some 6 weeks later. Build date was October 24th 2018
Cars now done 8000 mile and computer is telling me it needs its 2 yearly service as time counts from build date. That sounds wrong to me - any thoughts peeps?

Afraid that is correct as everything is based upon the build date not the date it was registered.

So service intervals should mean that clock is reset after a service is done, serviced at 1200 miles, next survey should be say 15k or 24 months after, corrected for driving severity smile or otherwise...

I’ve had this debate with BM many times. Even though I agree it’s logical the first proper service is a max of 2 years after the build date

Waiting to have call, I’m ready to be more than a little disappointed thanks to the two consistent responses...

I think I read it on these forums I’m sure someone bought a m4 CS which ended up needing the 2 year service around the same time as the running in service , think they ended up having both “services” done at the same time .
I know with my m3 (2018) it was built 9 months before it was registered to me , ended up having the 2 year service done with only 2400 miles on the clock .
