I’m in Scotland and in education so can register for a test.
Not sure why but something in my head is saying “don’t”.

Am I being irrational?

I was like, cool, sign me up. Then I saw how much bloody they got from the finger from a small prick and I'm thinking I'd be dripping that all around the kitchen making a right mess then forgetting and eating my salt and vinegar crisps.

Seems a bit counter productive to restrict it to such a narrow set of criteria if they're wanting to learn who has had it and how it's spread, I can understand they probably don't want to get swamped with requests from every hypochondriac in the country, but there's plenty of people who've had to continue working through out it, who could have had it and been asymptomatic and never known they could have been spreading it.

I'd have signed up to do it if I could, but I can't according to their criteria.

Post your sample back?

Absolutely unnecessary if they used the right kit unless it's just an info gathering exercise.

Very ambiguous on how long after they may be able to detect it.

Check they’ll actually give you the results. When Scotland joined the ONS survey apparently serology results weren’t to be fed back to the participants and the blood tests offered by places like Superdrug still aren’t available in Scotland.

Edit: ONS website suggests they don’t give anyone serology results. https://www.ons.gov.uk/surveys/informationforhouse...

If it's accurate I'd be interested, I just hate getting suckered in.

Other than taking the test to help with research why would you other than curiosity?
