Tough reading as a parent.

A tragedy that mental illness isn't picked up earlier.

Not entirely sure what I'd do with myself after an incident like that, can't even begin to imagine the impact on the parents, witnessing your 7yr old stabbed to death must be one of the most horrific things you'd could endure.

Knowing my wife's mindset I'd imagine the entire ordeal would take her life.

Absolutely horrible. I remember how chilling it was hearing it for the first time and it's no easier now frown

What a truly horrific thing to happen to a child, then for the parents to have to bury their daughter, utterly terrible. frown

Why should she be excused from entering a plea as requested by her barrister?

Nice work. Posting about a child’s murder and then using it for some other political point scoring.

I am surprised she made it to court with the parents present during the attack it would not have surprised me if the mother had killed her.

She should be put down. An the world would move on.

I would imagine something to do with not being mentally fit to do so.

No surprise given some of the posters here.

Trust you to take this tragic event to an absolutely disgusting low. You should be utterly ashamed of yourself.

Sorry if my post offended, it was not meant to nor was it an "immigration thing" as such and I apologise if it looked like that. But my sister in law has mental health issues (pretty bad but no violence displayed ever). and I suspect mental health may play a part in this. I cannot imagine my sister in law moving thousands of miles across Europe, she's not capable of doing so and how she would cope when she is there, I have no idea. For anyone to make such a decision, surely they must see things "better" where they are going than their current situation? It's not an easy thing to do at all.

Again, apologies it genuinely was not meant to offend. But it was far too glib a comment so I apologise unreservedly.

I thought you had a fair point. Amazing how you’re not even allowed to mention the fact that the stabbing nut job is a foreign national. It’ll be interesting to find out the terms on which she was in the UK. I suspect the parents are asking some questions, whatever their political persuasion.

Thanks, I think it may have been the term i used to describe her, which some may see as a bit "glib". But TBH, she stabbed a 7 year old girl in the neck whilst she rode her scooter, I am not sure what she would expect people to call her.

I am sure i am not alone thinking WTF is she even doing here? Apart from killing kids, i mean.

There is no legal requirement to enter a plea at the Plea and Trial Preperation Hearing (PTPH) it is a hearing to give the defendant an opportunity to enter an early plea and to set out a time table for trial if no plea or not guilty plea, the consequence (were it a lesser offence) is that you lose credit for making an early plea had she pleaded guilty but in this case it will be a life sentence anyway on conviction so from a legal point of view it makes little difference.

As a parent with an 8 year old daughter it must be horrific for the parents any my sympathies go out to them.

Perhaps she is seeking asylum in the UK because in her country she afraid for her safety.

The UK's Open Door policy comes with many dangers.

A few months in a nice hospital, then released back into Society because deporting her would infringe her Human Rights.
