Forgive me for being incredibly dense here, and the manual doesn't actually explain, so I was wondering which out of the two modes I use to trickle charge the car when not in use.

I'm thinking the recond mode is the correct one bit would appreciate a heads up chaps biggrin

Recond once per year and use AGM the rest of the time.

Is the AGM mode not just for AGM batteries though?

Yes correct, I assumed this was for OP's Aston.

Do any cars use lithium ion? Excluding hybrids and EV's obviously.

Sorry, presumed it was for a normal lead acid battery. Didn't know what car OP had.

I thought you were asking about AGM because you knew what type of battery you had.

Is it the Ctek MXS 5.0? If it is then look at what kind of battery you have (will be written on it if AGM) and if it is use AGM, if it isn't then just leave it set to car.

I think the battery in the V8 Vantage is a normal lead acid, unless it's had a replacement over the years. It will say AGM on the battery if it is.
