We've had this Samsung TV for probably 7 years, but it's only been switched on 2 or 3 times.

I tried to switch on tonight and it put on the logo screen and then input info but then switched off.
No standby light or response from any of the buttons on the back.

I've tried it again after a few hours and it did the same thing.

I took the back off and nothing looks untoward. The fuse on the power supply board is OK.

Any ideas of what to try next?

Switched on twice in 7 years!! Just chuck it away, you clearly don't need it.

But in all seriousness it my be as simple as needing a good clean out if it hasn't been used for 7 years. Id start with a can of compressed air and some sort of contact cleaner. Give everything on the circuit board a going over.

Its a fairly common problem with Samsungs. Fixing it normally involves a trip to the repair shop or the replacement I am afraid.
