Hi

Quite sudden change in circumstances mean I need to find a 2nd car that will fit 2 medium dogs in the boot with comfort and 4 people for ideally under £4k

Must be petrol, would prefer 1.6 to 2.0l engine. Auto is fine

Now the interesting part ..... I am going to share this with my kids ( 25 and 19 ). Thats why I was looking at a large hatchback or small estate ie one they can feel comfortable driving/parking etc

.And of course for them to be seen dead in it it must be at least modern looking. I'd drive a 940 Volvo but I really can't expect them to drive up to their friends in a tank ..haha

Any suggestions would be great without the obvious digs of why I am putting my kids opinions in the equation

Thanks a lot

I would suggest a Volvo 940, they may object initially but it will be an attractive proposition when it cold and wet.

Would something like a Seat Ibiza ST be too small?

Decent enough looking for your kids I'd imagine, modern enough to have decent creature comforts, but the boot might be a bit small, possibly.

Thanks so far for all the great suggestions..

Volvo , with obvious great respect, kids of this age want to drive a nice looking car ..

Ibizia ST.. nice car but boot too small for 2 medium dogs

Merc E Class - great cars..had one once..but way to big for my kids

Thanks for that great long list

Now an apology by large hatchback I mean a hatchback with a big boot not a big car for the same reasons I don't want a large estate

Sorry again... Hopefully that will help with some advice
