Does anyone know how often the transmision fluid should get changed on a w205 c63? The american forums seem to state several differnt milestones 😣

If it’s the same as a 220d I believe it’s 31k or 3 years, quantity varies between 5 and 10 litres depending on the torque converter and if it has a drain.

On the C63s C205, it is indeed every 31,000 miles or 3 years (along with the rear axle oil). It's a large invoice!

Perhaps that's main dealer prices!

If you want a metric to gauge how far they're pulling your pants down, when I've had the fluid changed in my 7g I'm pretty sure it only costs £200 or so at the indy Mercedes specialist. I've never had them change my diff oil but that's an easy job by comparison, should cost way less than the tranny fluid change so I'd reckon on £400 to do both.

Fluid alone will be £120-£170 depending on the quantity needed, then add the filter and bolts and its an hour to hour and a half to change and £200 is quite cheap.

Breaking the cost down... as I considered DIYing the job 2-3 years ago and I remember that the Mercedes ATF for a 7g was £45 inc VAT for a 5 litre bottle and I was going to need 2 of them... a filter kit (filter plus the gasket to replace the sump) wasn't anything huge, I'm pretty sure the genuine Mercedes part was about £30 inc VAT. Add an hour at £70/hr +VAT and that takes us up to £208. Granted that doesn't include the bolts (I don't recall pricing those, but from doing rocker covers I know Mercedes isn't above using single-use bolts!) and the garage might load up the price for the ATF and filter, but unless they're taking the widdle it should start with a £2xx. I don't recall thinking the price was unreasonable when I had it done at the Indy.

Granted, an MCT probably uses a different fluid but even if it's double that just means it's starting with a £3xx.

Thread resurrection time. The last time mine was serviced the Main dealer refused to to service the box, only doing the rear diff. They claimed it only is serviced once at 37k miles or three years. I checked with Mercedes Benz at MB World (cant remember the dealer name) and they agreed?
Thoughts?

Wrong!

I had mine done at a main dealer. I had to go over the job items at quite a great length to make sure they were all noted on the job card.

Despite this MB couldn’t even be bothered to itemise the digital service history… I need to get them to sort that…
