What are these strange rock carvings?

Absolutely no idea where to put this but thought it might be interesting if anyone can share any historical or local knowledge.
I’ve recently moved to Pattingham, a little village just outside Wolverhampton. It’s lovely and there are loads of walks. One we took today took us through Copley Woods which appeared to have an old sandstone quarry in the middle. There are lots in the area and we’ve visited a couple on the nearby Patshull Estate. We had a look around this one and found two quite strange carvings in the stone. One, almost Masonic in appearance without being a full compass and square, it does look similar to a compass and rule. The other has the appearance of a window carved in the rock.
I’ve checked out the site on an old map and the quarry appears on the 1888 map as ‘old quarry’ back then but doesn’t reveal more except for naming the wood Hamley Park.

I just thought it was interesting as we have this place only a short walk away which we’ve visited a few times in the past. There are loads of tenuous links to the knights Templar but I think it was actually dug out by a quirky estate owner.

Interesting timing, as recently the symbol has been displayed in various cities in Europe. Possibly indicating a new album.
