"Incredibly unique, one of only two" SIlverstone Auctions
Discussion
We all really do need to put a stop to this auction description nonsense, the above example just being a particularly absurd case, and from Silverstone Auctions 13 and 14 November 2020 on a Porsche Carrera 2.7 targa in Magenta.
It is not only the factual inaccuracies, which I can stomach, as we all make mistakes and cannot be experts on everything , but the misleading descriptions couched in vagaries with essential or important info left out or the childlike buff as per above, is more than annoying, as it does our hobby no favours.
It would be silly to bid on this auction which I presume it's run by pre-adolescents from their Mum's bedroom. So please don't.
Ridiculous. Unique is binary, like pregnant, it either is or it isn't. There's no almost unique, or unique, one of only 2. If both were for sale, then it would be a unique pair.
I also get irritated by "for free". "I got it for free". No, you got it free. Instead of getting it for £5. But you didn't get it for free. Just free will do. t
