Cursed Car - anyone taken them back?

Hey all - would appreciate your views on this.

Have you ever taken back a car that you thought was cursed? Where one thing after another went wrong without respite?

I'm not in this situation myself - just curious as to whether one has the right to request a replacement car or refund.

Don't get me wrong - I'm loving it and not in that situation yet but want to know what the options are and what time periods apply.

What's your thoughts on it?

A mate recently took a Nissan pick up back after 8 repair visits in the first 6 weeks. Various reasons. Not a TVR I know, but he went in and gave the keys back demanding a refund. They relented and he went straight to the mitsubishi dealer for a Warrior.

He is quite a big bloke though, so that might have been a factor.

I think the reason they refunded was because these problems were "not reasonable when added together", even though each was repaired in turn.

Had a MINI that had issues.

It went back, full refund.

Did have the help of a very nice man on the inside but still...

Cool, that's good to know.

I've been back to the dealership twice in the first three weeks - hopefully just teathing problems but want to keep options open in case this becomes a weekly event!!

A mate of mine has an Alfa 147, and that's been back and forth to the dealer on a weekly or monthly basis for over 2 years!

Nothing major, but problems with the all-in-one stereo/Sat-Nav/phone unit which they seem to be completely unable to fix.

Done it with my Cerbera 4.5 and one of my Tuscans.
