Squeaky Rear! What's the usual suspect?
Discussion
Hi all, just been out today & thought I'd wind the window down rather than rely on the aircon, only to find an annoying squeaky rattle from the rhs rear. Thinking it's likely to be where the clam meets the body I lubed everything but to no avail, still a rattly squeak on meeting undulations in the road. Anyone had similar or any ideas for sorting it? (Please)
Funny enough I've recently (last few weeks) got the same on the M400.
I've lubricated (silicon and oil) every single bit of the exhaust and clam that I can find, and I still can't get to the source.
I'm now convinced it's probably a bush as in mine it's related to the rear nearside wheel moving around - but can I find it, can I buggery.
It's off for a service soon and I'll let them find it under the warranty. I'll let you know what it was.

It can be adjusted - Andy G had it done about 5 times
You can try "building up" the bits of foam that it rests on the bulkhead meaning these need to be squished a bit for the screw catches to tighten up. If it still rattles around then you'll need to take it off and inspect the "bushes" (it's the bit that the two 'bolts' go through, don't know the technical term for it!) on the bottom mounts - they have been known to collapse which means it jiggles around at the bottom.
