The National Motorcycle Museum's raffling off some bikes to raise some money while they're closed to visitors due to covid.

Seem like a decent use of £12 to help them stay afloat and a chance to win a 1977 Norton Commando,1948 Ariel 250, or a 1959 BSA 350

Thanks for the link. A worthy cause so I bought some tickets.

Agreed. Contrary to what a lot of people spout the NMM really do promote using their bikes, most aren’t static display machines.

Only issue with this raffle for me is I wouldn’t want a zero miles Commando. I’d rather have the second or third place usable bike hehe

I wouldn't want the Commando either - zero miles or not - I paid over the odds for one a few years back, spent as much again trying to sort it and still the b*****d never wanted to run properly. A right passion killer.

I would definitely use the Commando so would probably have to sell it immediately and use the money to buy another one, hopefully at profit.

Did anyone who entered actually get their tickets emailed through?

I am not sure what I would do with any of the prizes, all my bikes have been fuel injected smile
I haven't got the tickets pdf either, assumed it would be processed on Monday.

I only ordered Friday evening, got the invoice email but not the tickets yet, I assume they'll process them in the week.

I'm also not sure what I'd do with the bikes if I won, the zero mileage Norton is probably best kept on zero mileage as an investment and I don't even have a garage at the moment biggrin I'd hate to see somewhere like this go under though

It would be a great shame if this went under, anyone know what happened to all the stuff from The Donnington Collection?

I'd definitely ride it, what's the point of keeping it pristine for someone else to ride when I'm dead?

Yes and no. It’s nice for restorers to have a perfect original model for reference. I’d just sell the zero miler and buy a usable one if that’s what I wanted. The zero miler would take a load of cash to get it usable too.

Personally I wouldn’t want a zero miler but I think it’s nice they exist.
