Brand new Samsung TV - this isn't right is it?
Discussion
Took my hardly used Samsung 32" to the tip, useless piece of junk that failed on several occasions with sound and no picture. Had it inspected/fixed twice at Samsung agents which probably cost more that the TV in the first place, first time they could find no problem and the second time reported as fixed but failed again after a few hours. It lived at our place in France so not exactly easy to bring it back to the repairing agent again.

I think I'm done with Samsung products for a while. I get there will be issues here and there as ultimately everything is a numbers game, and they're a huge manufacturer pumping out unthinkable volumes. But I've a sound bar which likes to randomly interfere with the HDMI CEC protocols and will land you with a HDCP error screen while you're in the middle of watching something on Netflix or Prime. I've a Galaxy Fit which began to fail at 10 months old, and ultimately suffered total failure a couple of weeks later. It's replacement was a refurbished unit, but I'm dubious as to its longevity (the screen displayed random flashing lines during its first charge). And the wife has a laptop which from new had questionable build quality and piss poor performance. Bits started coming off that within 12 months too. And she looks after stuff as a rule - this was a first for her.
And don't get me started on their software which is necessary to manage stuff like the Fit. It's questionable and falls flat on its face on a regular basis. Which leaves you in the hands of Samsung Customer Service, which sucks donkey balls, don't know what they are doing, and despise dealing with valid customer issues caused by buggy Samsung software or service outages.
Things are better when you visit a Customer Service Centre in person to return or exchange a faulty product, but even so the first guy I met when reporting the dead Fit at 10 months old told me the Fit wasn't covered by warranty and I'd have to pay for a replacement. At which point I laughed and told him in front of other customers to hand it back to me so as I could take pleasure in smashing the piece of junk to pieces and chucking it in the bin. Another member of staff heard the exchange and suddenly warranty did apply!
