Toe link noise - simple fix!
Discussion
I've just got a 2001 S2 and about 30 miles after buying it, a knocking noise started from the rear suspension. Tracked this down to the rear toe links - as lots of 2001 S2s seem to have a problem with these! - it's all to do with the grease drying out.
SO - simple fix - large bore IV cannula and a syringe and injected grease into the rubber surrounds of the 4 toe link joints! (being a doctor helps in getting hold of the big needles!) - anyway, instant fix! - no more noise, and it was BAD before, klacking away constantly!
I'm well chuffed! - I know there's now a wee hole in each of the rubber caps, but I doubt anything'l get in there!
anyway, must go track down another annoying noise coming from the front left side! - not suspension, but something knocking! - any ideas??
