I recently upgraded to Sky Q and bought a new TV. My set up is Sky Q and BluRay via HDMI to the Samsung TV. Optical from the TV to the AV amp. Then bluetooth headphones. The reason I am using optical rather than HDMI ARC is the AV amp is old and wont support UHD via HDMI.

Problem I have is negative lip sync. In that the sound is behind. Sky Q and the TV both have delay settings but they are all to delay sound, whereas I need to speed it up.

Anyone else with the same issue or anyone got any suggestions.

Delay is set to 0 on Sky and TV

I'm not sure. Some of the menu items are on screen but I have no connection out from the amp to tv. Will try that and see what settings I have

I had this exact setup but mine was to a rear mounted soundbar rather than headphones. I came to the conclusion that it was the extra processing time in the hdmi to optical in the tv, optical to BT conversion at the amp and then the input to the soundbar. Got round it using fibre directly around the edge of the room but obviously that’s not helpful...

Try adjusting the distance to speakers in set-up - I had real issues with lip sync between my Panasonic tv/Anthem avr and just couldn't get it stable at all, all over the place - moved it into the kitchen to decorate and as I was sitting closer to it and hadn't adjusted it from the living room, it was bang on! Moved it all back, it was out again , knocked the distance back two feet and its rock solid. Worth a try.

I had the same issue when I used optical SkyQ to Echo Studio. SkyQ sync issues. Sent the Echo Studio back. SkyQ straight to TV, no issues.

No amount of delay fettling could get it sorted...

Unbeknown to me the TV has Bluetooth built in. Connecting the headphones directly to the TV has made a massive difference. There is still a very slight sync issue but it's barely noticeable now.

Normally the video processing takes more time than the audio so the audio is ahead. A lot of amps allow you to delay audio but the only thing I can think of that allows you to speed up audio is Kodi, which I run on a fire tv.

It's a known issue with sky and the DD processing. Samsung seem to be affected mostly.

I have a Sonos setup and use hdmi arc and its terrible. The only solution is to remove the DD element and let sky process as stereo. Defeats the object of a good setup really.

Optical doesn't have the issue but you can't get dd+ with optical.

Loads of threads on the sky pages.
