Christmas 2020 and Covid-19.

I know it's over 2 months away, but my brother mentioned it to me today when we chatted. He, his wife, teenage son and daughter normally host, and my sister, my brother's Mother-in-Law (Yes.. they get on really well!) and me arrive at about midday. So that makes 7 of us from 4 different households!
I'm thinking, as I live furthest away from them not to attend this year, and that brings them down to 6 at least. My Sister-in-Law is deemed at high-risk of infection and I don't think it's fair to take such a chance with her health. I know we'll communicate nearer the time, but how do other PHer's expect their Christmas to be this year?

Simply put it isn't going to happen. We have a full family Christmas meal with 4 generations of the family in attendance. It's a big deal but none of us expect it to happen this year. Ironically I do wonder if this Christmas will be the best most people have had for years judging by all the posts that appear here and elsewhere about fights with annoying family members. I'm rather looking forward to the change of pace this year.

Decided I didn't want to put the oldies at risk (I'm working up until Xmas Eve in a busy office that isn't great at social distancing) so it's going to be a fun solo Xmas this year

I'll be having my parents and a few uncles and aunties staying. Should be great

Same as usual. Present openings. Christmas dinner with the parents/sibling. Followed by plenty of chocolate, video games and maybe a Christmas movie thrown in somewhere.

We always go skiing or to our place in the Dordogne - just the four of us.

We aren’t skiing this year and still hope to be able to get to the Dordogne but we’ll play it by ear and may have the first Christmas in London since 2009. If we do, I expect that my MIL and SIL, both of whom have separated from long term partners this year, will have to be at least invited.

Probably see the family Xmas day, then catchup with friends at a house party of sorts with all the kids.

Days before/after will be big family/friend BBQs in the locks parks and sitting on the beach.

Same as last year.

No Covid issues at the moment where I am, there has been no community transmission for 6 months.

Normally would head south to my house in Arizona.Have a few guests staying.

Not going to happen I expect.

Will just be a cold , snowy miserable Canadian winter. No big events of any kind.

Road tripping down to Florida from Chicago with the family (usually fly, but driving seems like the safer, more reliable option for now), sitting by the pool/beach, grilling steaks, and getting subtly pissed for 2 weeks. Perfect.

I usually ignore Christmas, but this year will be organising a street party to annoy Johnson, Hancock & Co.

I'm going to do what I did last year, up early and out on the mountain bike for a few hours and then home for a shower and breakfast by 9am.

Then I'll get totally smashed and play computer games, having my Xmas meal at about 9pm as I've fallen asleep on the sofa mid afternoon!

Supposed to be in New York for Christmas and New Year (our 'normal') that certainly isn't happening unless by some miracle.

It will be replaced with the wife, myself and our daughter and the 2 dogs at home.

I will not be visiting family, immediate or extended - I had no intentions of this anyway and am not adjusting plans to included them.
