Are you sure they aren't Maybugs?

They are about this time of year. Cheeky buggers keep flying down our Chimney of an evening and need to be let out/chucked out.

The wife hates them. Last year we went on hols and came back to find twenty of 'em dead on our window sills. If we keep getting 'em flying down the chimney this year the wife will insist on fitting an "insect mesh" (much finer than a bird mesh) on the chimney pot.
