Bit of time off - wanting to start something
Discussion
Hi PH business people,
Work have granted me a couple of weeks off due to me accruing a lot of time off during lockdown. I should really be putting my feet up and relaxing, but I just can't do that!
So I'm looking to start up something. Something to keep me busy during these couple of weeks. I do have a bit of capital to start up and looking to start it asap. Of course I will keep updating things in here!
My previous work is rather varied. I do have a lot of experience working for small companies so I get the general just of how they operate. I also have a decent background in sales, marketing and customer service. I have a bit of expirence in web design using WordPress.
My hobbies do include motorsport, photography, electronics and gadgets. Also a huge interest in travel but that's a bit by the wayside at the moment.
This is where I am at a quandary. I don't know what to start! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

I currently work as a production operative for a label printing firm. I do get very heavily discounted stickers but I'm not too sure on the quantity or if I'm allowed to resell. But it could be an option as the relationship between me and management is really healthy
You would need to speak to your employers!48k said:
Just to clarify - are you looking to start a business/sideline over the next two weeks that you will then keep going when you go back to work, or are you looking for something to occupy your time just for the next two weeks you have off?
Something to keep going when I am at work. I can still dedicate time and effort when I get back in to workCertainly, if you can be bothered, setting up basic £100 WP sites for people just starting a business is probably a good place. I see too many people offering £500-£2000 websites with full on e-commerce capabilities when it's just a bloke who's just lost his job and wants to offer some kind of DIY service. There are going to be a lot of unemployed people soon!

Seen a lot more interest in people buying/selling ‘stuff’, recently, I think to supplement thier income, or they know what’s coming. T28 said:

You've just described me! We should get married
Assuming your photos are good enough, set up an online platform with something like Pixieset and sell them as wall art. Need to throw a little money at the marketing side - social media, that type of thing and nor will you make a fortune but you can bring in some decent wedge sufficient to buy new gadgets if nothing else.

Blimey, start printing Coivd related labels, the world will be over run with them for at least the next 12 months if not a lot longer. SEOT.Gassing Station | Business | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
