I have a manual DB9 which idles well. When I stop and dip the clutch the idle speed remains around 1200 then dips low and settles correctly.
Am I chasing ghosts or can this be corrected. My next move is to remove the throttle bodies and clean them and see what that does to improve things.
I’ve replaced the rear exhaust box with straight pipes and that has improved things, I can now pull away without giving it loads of right foot but it’s still not smooth on the transition from still to go unless I give it more than I feel is necessary.
I’ve used Viezu for remaps before and they are first class but I thought I’d ask in case I’m missing something

My DB9 is auto. But I am failing to see what your problem is ?

The throttle isn’t smooth and on pulling away I have to give it too much throttle to stop it stalling. I was wondering if the return to idle as described was normal or potentially highlighting a problem

I have a DB9 manual and I think what you describe above is very normal - it takes some getting used to before you can make smooth starts without burning the clutch with too many revs or stalling. “Tall” first and - particularly - reverse gears don’t help the problem. Now I’ve mastered it, it’s one of the main reasons that I don’t let anyone else drive my car and, all in all, it’s a small price to pay for the joy of driving a V12 manual Aston!
