Just bought a new Samsung TV specifically with built in Wifi.
Did this so I could link to wifi and watch BBC iPlayer/Amazon Prime video like I do on my laptop.

Won't connect to the wifi but will if I create hotspots on my phone or tablet.

Just wondering if Sky are doing something sh*tty and not allowing me to link to it so I have to buy another Sky box ?

Never had a problem with my Samsung set when i had Sky - might be a wiffy channel conflict with another device in your house.

Just a guess, but does the sky router broadcast both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz? If so , maybe the TV needs to connect to the 2.4Ghz signal...

If you can’t sort it, a cheap and easy fix would be an amazon fire stick plugged into one of the HDMIs. Probably on offer as it’s prime day if you’re quick

A friend of mine has a Samsung that keeps dropping the wifi signal, apparently it's quite common. I got a good deal on a Samsung recently, hope I don't have the same issue!

Apologies if obvious but have you reset the router?

Does the your router detect it from the admin panel? Does it connect but with zero bandwidth or is the TV literally not able to see the WiFi?

Mine has both so it probably depends which sky router you have. By default mine used the same ssid for both bands so I changed one so it was clear which a device was using.

I've only bloody done it !! bounce

Just about to give up but had one final crack at it.

It was finding the Sky Wifi no problem, it wasn't accepting the password (even though I knew it was right as I had taken a photo of it).

It suggested another couple of ways of connecting so I chose 'WPS'. It said go and press the WPS button on the router, came back to the TV and it had connected !!

Sorry to have troubled people.

I was going to buy an PS3 or 4 to keep myself busy over the winter period but might delay that as that will need setting up as well............
