Air-Con

With regards to my air con and various posts i have read, once A/C switched is pressed i cant see any blue light (i know this dont really mean much) but i also cant hear any sound of the clutch clicking in, would this be the problem if it was low on gas or had a leak some where, or has any one else any help as the hot weather just is not going away at the moment and its Cerbie weather!!!!!!!!!

mine switches on but then after about 10minutes switches off. it does this again, and then afterwards it stays on!

Weird or what.

I do have some high power diodes though that you can replace the standard dimmest of dim diodes with! mail me if you want one!

Silly question...but does your Cerbie have aircon. I thought that it was a factory 'add-on' at time of build, and although the switch would probably be still in situe, it is possible that the rest of the system isnt!

As far as im aware its has air con. It has the separate air con rad behind the main rad so im presuming its all fitted and correct i also have spoken to the first owner and they confirmed it to have air con.
Any help you may be able to shed i would be greatful.

With regards to the adjustment of the aircon temperature, I have found the rotary thermostat under the drivers dash but I don't know which way to turn it?
Is clockwise warmer or cooler? What happens if you turn it all the way....does it freeze up and can it do any damage? The aircon is very slow at cooling and doesn't do a very good job but it appears to be fully gassed up and functional. Is this just the way it is?

Turn the adjuster clockwise to cool things down.

If you've got a really good system then it's possible for it to freeze up but no harm seems to be done and once the ice thaws (after you've switched the air con off for a few minutes) it will blow cold again.

Am i right in saying that if i have no gas in the system the a/c will not engage and there fore i wont be hearing the click from the bonnet. So fisrt step is to get it re gased??

I searched for this adjuster last weekend and couldn't find it under the dash. Any pics or more detailed notes on where it might be?
I looked at the cerbera register manual and it metioned something about it been behind the carpet on the right hand side of the driver footwell, anyone else found it there?

On my previous Cerbera (a 1999 4.5) it was tucked up on the RHS of the drivers footwell, at the upper edge of the carpet. You'll probably have to remove the trim panel underneath the steering column to give you access.

Anyone know how much it should cost to recharge the aircon gas? Any suggestions for this service in Midlands/Warwickshire area?

Also worth checking the heater control box in the passenger footwell as the ribbon cable can come loose and leave you with no buttons

Could this control box loose ribbon cause the a/c not too work, would it also stop the main heaters from working as i have heat but no cold air from the a/c?
