As we are fast approaching the end of this console generation, thought it would be interesting to see what people's top games of the past 7 or so years are

My personal top 5 are

- Death Stranding
- Detroit Become Human
- Witcher 3
- Yakuza 0 or Judgement (cant decide which one but can only include one Yakuza Game in my list)
- Control

Interesting that both Skyrim and GTA5 are on some of these lists when both are last-gen games they've ported to the current one.

Since I'm here:

Witcher 3
Red Dead Redemption 2
Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The Last of Us Part 2
Monster Hunter World

Though ask me again tomorrow and I'd probably swap around the last one for something else.

GTA V (though due to it being available on PS3 as pointed out, may not be allowed)
Days Gone
Horizon Zero Dawn
Just started Death Stranding (literally about an hour in), but very good so far, looks stunning and the soundtrack really brings you in)

Good thread! I'll have to invest in some more games. smile

In addition to some of the above.

Return of the Obra Dinn - Simply wonderful puzzle game on Steam/PC/Mac
Hades - Hack'n'Slash roguelike again on Steam/PC/Mac. Just one more go...

Resident Evil 2 remastered - PS4

I loved Death Stranding from the start but a lot of people say it takes 10-12 hours to really get going.

The Soundtrack (and the way it is introduced) only gets better.

RDR 2
Final Fanatsy Remake - Best game hands down, everything about it was brilliant. I loved the original though.

Horizon Zero Dawn is the standout best for me. Honorable mentions go to:

God of War
Cuphead
Rise of the Tomb Raider

For me;

Assassins Creed Origins - loved the revamp to the AC series and the expanseness of Ancient Egypt

Doom (2016) - such fast paced gameplay and reintroduction of an old classic

Forza 7 - First Forza games in years and spent so many hours grinding away on laps trying to eek out tenths of a second each time.

This gen was going to be awesome, turned out to be a lot of hyped up games that did nothing for me.
I liked Fallout 4 and Forza Horizon 4 and Spider-Man.
I was disappointed by RDR2, turned a fun game into a cowboy simulator. God of war was a QuickTime event cut scene movie. Forza motorsport 7 just going round in circles.

Lego dimensions was fun.

Skyrim and GTA 5 I think are the only games I've bought multiple times and both games I can still keep going back to.

Otherwise, very much enjoyed For Honor for a time and Overwatch, whilst incredibly frustrating was also ridiculously addictive.

Shout out to Warzone as well for actually letting me enjoy a battle royale game.

The two I have chosen are:

Horizon Zero Dawn
Visually the most impressive looking game I have played and an incredible story too. Hopefully Forbidden west is just as good.

Forza Horizon 2
A fantastic open world racing game. I find it so much more interesting than Horizon 3 and 4, but I'm not quite sure why.

Most of my other games are sports based or shooters, but none of these have really held my interest as much as the two listed above.

Outer Wilds by some distance. I put off finishing it for hours after deducing what to do.

Doom 2016 too.

duh didn't spot the last several years aspect.

Was Gran Turismo Sport worth the wait, I think so, just.
