Very nice OP. I did look at these for a while but felt it wasn’t really a worthy JCW car.

I do like the colour of that though!

Thank you. I understand your point, as soon as the JCW badge is added the expectations of the car grows. Apparently it's grey, it looks more green to me! My previous MINI JCW had Nitron dampers, the loud track only valved exhaust and an lsd so this is a nice sedate drive in comparison!

Very nice OP. Drive the newer Cooper S and that felt quick, so this must feel rapid.

Currently driving the older Clubman and while not the biggest cars they are practical and means you can still drive a mini.

Enjoy

Nice car. I drive an F54 Cooper SD and love it. Would love to try one of these.
My car is moonwalk grey with black wheel and trim and looks quite similar. I think your colour is emerald? Grey with a greenish tinge?
I bought my car as a one year old Approved car and mine too was something like a 13k saving in the new price. People go on about the size but it makes for a far more usable car and it’s not exactly big.
I had a Golf GTD before which was a great car but I’m finding the “Chubby Clubbie” a more characterful alternative .

Sorry I deleted it by mistake!

I picked up my new (to me) Clubman JCW a couple of weeks back. I guess you have to be a bit of a "MINI fan" to buy one but luckily I am biggrin Although a marmite car, I've always liked the clubman and when they announced they were finally making one with over 300hp it got me interested. It had just over 5,500 miles on it when I collected and has lost over £12,000 on its list price new in 7 months! I think I got it for a fair price compared to others for sale as it's pretty well spec'd although it doesn't have the adaptive dampers or bigger option wheels. I had a M235i a couple of years ago with high beam assist and it was pretty slow at reacting so I never really used it however the one fitted to the clubman is surprisingly good in comparison, it's useable at least! I think the auto gearbox suits the type of car well although I don't think the gearbox is as nice as a zf8 if I was being picky.

After a good early morning drive last Sunday I'm really pleased with it, it has all the space I need, is very refined for a MINI and goes pretty well when required. biggrin

One thing I have noticed already though is stones getting fired through the vents in the front arch trim which then get stuck in the vent. Annoying but I'm sure I can live with it!

Thanks for reposting. I thought I was going wobble

Interesting car and colour, and, I suspect, will catch out a number of people not knowing they've >300 gee gees. Quite a saving, too!

That's lovely mate, these are real marmite cars but in the right colour I think they look great. I nearly didn't read this thread because of the missing OP but I'm glad I scrolled down.

Thanks for all the comments smile More positive responses than I expected as it is a marmite car as some of the comments prove hehe Alfa Pete you're correct that it's emerald grey, I haven't seen many in this colour. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing!

Petrol Ped has been singing the praises of this one for a while now. They are great cars and I guided the other half towards one when upgrading from her 5 door Cooper SD recently.

We took one on a test drive and whilst rapid, the snappy change from 1st to 2nd combined with the hard ride put her off. She ended up with the Cooper S version which I must say is an awesome car.

The full size rear doors make a big difference over the hatch and the key operated barn doors are still fun when you ambush someone with them as they approach the rear.

Plus side is that we already have a 300hp+ car in the household so I just enjoy the ride and decent tech in the new Clubman.

Love that colour, Emerald Grey, wasn't available when the F series cars came out, so I plumped for Volcanic Orange on my F56 Cooper, which was free - bonus.

I was lucky enough to drive one of the new models last year thanks to PH and MINI.

See here https://youtu.be/cW2yshD6BNk and here https://youtu.be/lv-m6KLsyq4.... hmm, not watched them for a while, do still miss the R55.

To be honest you probably don't need anything more than a Cooper S anyway. I've come from a car with Nitron suspension so the ride in this for me is amazing in comparison hehe I like the rear doors and I'm sure you could do some damage with them as the gas struts are quite strong!

Thanks! I think the colour was released as an option when the LCI was released. I quite like starlight blue as well. Thanks for the links, I like the R55, you don't see many JCW variants about either.

Sounds about right for the colour and LCI, I seem to remember them when the F56 LCI came out. I've a friend who traded in her Cooper S for an LCI JCW F56, but she bottled it on starlight for some reason and got white silver.
