Passed in june, spent the summer putting 4500 miles in my CBR650f. Great bike, perfect for a new rider (which I still am) and comfy for commuting and longer distance.
Got a tour of Devon and Cornwall in and plenty of weekends round Wales.

Ultimately i knew the bike wasn't ticking all the boxes, fancied being much more uncomfortable but if you cant have a sportsbike when you're 28 when can you?

Picked this up yesterday and loving it.

Intake noise is perfect and sounds well for the standard exhaust.
Jobs for the winter are a few R&G items and to get the front end and leading edges in PPF (tank has already been done)

Initial thoughts are to agree with many of the reviews about lacking power down low, even compared to my 650 but theres plenty of fun up top when it really starts to howl.

Credit where credit is due to Completely Motorbikes in Gloucester. Offered 1k more for my part ex than anywhere else, bikes are immaculate and service is v.good.

Nice. Not sure I've ever seen one of those on the road.

Nice. Is it as brutal as some of the reviews say?

The 44 teeth review I saw said there is a massive flat spot at low revs because of the emissions stuff, which you can get rid of with an exhaust and remap. Should help the road ride-ability a bit.

Really nice looking bikes.

Can be a bit frustrating on the road unless seriously committed, as can be a bit flat at lower revs, but on track, these are the fking business.
I still think a decent 600 is best fun track machine. And the R6 is a belter, so enjoy it!

Congrats, lovely looking thing!

As noted i think they really benefit from a can and a remap to get rid of euro gubbins.

Couldn’t agree more, I went from a 2016 R1 to a 2010 ZX6r track bike (admittedly is a very nice spec), and it’s the best thing I’ve done. I’d certainly love a go on one of these new R6’s

I can't think that a 600/750 is the sweetspot.

It's this kind of thing that makes me think the sensible option of an er6f after I get my licence would be a bit of a waste and something to progress with would have some more longevity.

Back on topic, that does look lovely, an r6 in blue just looks right.

Something more sensible is great for getting miles under your belt which ultimately is what should lead to being a better rider.

But whatever will get you out the most.

Purely because I saw this and loved it.
Didnt really give anything else a thought other than a hypermotard SP but il save that for when I'm bored with being uncomfortable.

An R6 is on my shortlist for late next year when I’ll change from my CBR600f.

I’ll be 50 then but hopefully my fairly fit body will be able to deal with the foot pegs and position!!

Lovely looking bike that pal

Lovely. Who could say no to a pair of Gold upside downers.
If I could be sure I would be able to unfold myself fast enough to stop it falling over when I stop, I'd love something like that. Alas, I'm tall, old and starting to creak.

Have fun!

Absolutely lovely cloud9

I had a 2004 R6 as my 2nd big bike. I should never have sold the thing!! As much as I love the instant shove from a thousand, when you're in the mood theres nothing quite like wringing the neck of a 600 supersport.

I'd like a shot of a modern 600 to see how it compares to my 17 year old GSXR track bike

I have an ER6F and it is definitely not a waste of time, I've had it four years.

Can I ask how you passed your test in June...mid lockdown? Mine was moved from end of March to September!

I think we are on the same trajectory, but at different speeds. I'm aiming to purchase my first naked 600 this winter, but I was looking to keep it for at least a couple of years .

Is the move to the R6 because you feel you've outgrown the 650 or the R6 was always the end goal?
Also, did your premium double?

Congrats on the bike, she's beautiful.

Safe riding.

Just checked and it was july not june.
My original test date was March 3 days after lockdown was announced.

Certainly didnt outgrow it could of happily kept it another 12 months but ultimately I'm into sportsbike and racing so just the way I wanted to go.

Didnt give it much more thought than that other than I've always been a fan of cars that need driving to get the most out of them...had various 182s Civic ep3 classic minis lower powered hatches.

Had the money went for it love it.
