Centre speaker recommendations

I'm toying with the idea of replacing my centre speaker (currently a monitor audio GSLCR).
I have Kef 201/2 as front left / right, monitor audio for left / right and rears and a BK sub. It sounds excellent, but I'm tempted to bring the centre up to the same kind of level as the Kefs.
I can't remember what the GSLCR cost but I think it was in the £500 region when I bought it.
Kef do seem to have a nice looking centre, but at ~£4k that's more than I want to spend. I think somewhere around half that would probably be ok.
Any suggestions? Wood finish if possible, although the GSLCR is black gloss so it's not the end of the world of that's the only option.
