Now that autumn and winter are here, I'm getting the bottom of the drivers door cars wet on our 986 Boxster - any suggestions as to the cause and more importantly the cure?

Rainwater that gets past the glass rubber seal should run out of the door through drain holes (this applies to all cars), there is a membrane inside the door to encourage this. On some cars, it can be just a plastic sheet taped across the door. If somebody has been inside the door to fix a lock or electrical fault, the membrane may be compromised, or nor not sealed back up sufficiently.

Other than getting the door car off to check, which could be awkward (my last Boxster also did this if the rain was heavy), I used a half cover over the car which did the job of keeping the door dryish. Not a complete solution, but it stops you getting wet door carpet.

its definitely the membrane mate; common fault on 9x6 & 9x7's
