Hey all , recently got a 2009 635d, has the oil level on the idrive but cannot see a dipstick - is this correct?
I really don't want to rely on the idrive for the oil level 😫

It's listed on RealOEM; have you checked right at the back of the block; it'll be a black cap IIRC

It is behind here on my ‘66 plate 335d. It is conical-shaped pull, not a ring-pull.

Mines the 09 model, so different engine than the one pictured.
Not actually 100 percent sure it has an oil dipstick, which is annoying.

the RealOEM link above states your engine has one; have a look at the back of the block; it'll be a flat black cap IIRC and not a red pull ring

It will look like this when pulled up. (Not conical, as I previously wrote - don’t use it that often, given the iDrive!)

Thanks all, ill have a look.

On another note - is the idrive accurate when it comes to oi level? Would you relf solely on the idrive to keep tabs on the level?

... dont think id completely trust it!
