Hi All,

As per the title, if you had a budget of 5k, 10k or 15k to spend on a drivers car, what would you buy at each price point?

The only rules I'm working with are 4 seats as a minimum and isofix and I'll hopefully be able to use your recommendations to pick out a fun toy for just goofing about in and maybe the odd track day.

The reason for setting the 3 budgets is just to understand my options and if it's worth spending a little more, to get a lot more.

Thanks in advance,

Rich

When our kids were babies, we had a seat base isofixed to the back seat, which the carry cot could clip into.

However, it was perfectly possible to anchor the seat base (or indeed any other type of seat) with a seatbelt too, and as long as it was snugged up well, it never needed touching.

Point? I think the isofix requirement is a nice to have, and shouldn't be a show stopper.

Unless perhaps you are regularly removing and replacing the car seat if the car is being used for a lot of different tasks?

Yep, this. And to be quite honest, even though we had isofix at the time, we used the seat belt fitting option as it just worked better for the shape of the seat base we were using.

To be honest, if kid's seats are part of the equation, I'd be putting 4/5 doors as a far higher priority than isofix. That really does make a difference and saves a fortune on chiropractor bills!
