Guys,
Bought a 2009 Bessacar about 18 months ago which didn't come with any gas bottles. I decided to fit one of these GASIT conversions which was quite easy. After having it sit around for 6 months we decided on a weekend away. I filled the tanks and off we went. First day there was no gas in the tanks! I've checked my connections and they're fine, nothing's leaking inside as we're not dead so I'm at a loss as to what's happened. There's a chimney leading from the water/warm air heater and also the fridge is vented. To compound my problems I tried to refill the tanks but they wouldn't fill.
Telephoned GASIT who said this problem occurs when the petrol stations gas tanks start getting low. I tried another petrol station but had the same problem. Anybody give any tips on what to check?
I'm taking it to Silverstone next week for the Birkett so any advice greatly appreciated.
I've booked it in with an expert but he's so busy he's not sure when he can get to me.

I wouldn't mess about with it, though mine was dead easy, once fitted I took it to a dealer for a check. In your case I'd say find another expert who can check it for you.

BTW are you really really sure you filled it with gas?

Get it to someone who is Gas competent. I would say its unlikely that the bottle would vent/leak on its own assuming it is sound.

Dont try to fill it or continue filling if its filling slowly or not at all (as you can overfill!).
