Porsche Club UK worth it?
Discussion
Full list of benefits and discounts can be found here - there are many companies offering discounts on parts, labour, travel, insurance etc.

As said above, access at events and dedicated club parking areas are useful as is the free coffee and sticky buns.
Some of the written content is behind the internet news releases (obvs), that said other articles and news is direct from Porsche and slightly from behind the scenes so can be of interest and only published in the club magazine.

I am not sure about joining. Every now and then you hear about parts being overpriced so the 10% may not be a good deal.
Are non members able to go to a meet to see what they think before they join?
Has anybody here joined for a year and then not renewed?
Mike

Went to one meet. That was enough.
Didn't renew.
Been a member for 15 years, made loads of great life long friends and been on some awesome drives and euro trips.
Obviously at the moment things are very quiet, but normally something to do most weekends.
At the local level it really does depend on what your locals are like, there are some pompous t
ts about, but generally it just full of a good mix of normal people.
I have probably never made the cost back on parts of insurance discounts, but then at £60 a year it really is pence. To me it's all about people.

Thanks for the reply’s everyone. I watched a video on YouTube showing a meet in wales on the sea front a few years ago. It looked a pleasant morning out. I think the bloke who did the video was name Roger and I thought he came across really well watched a few more of his videos.
I aren’t sure if I will do track days, it would be nice to see what my car could do but it’s a lot of money if it goes wrong!

But do you have the cap and jacket?... 🤣I have seen some Porsche billboards walking around. However what ever floats your boat I suppose!Schmed said:
Might be worth it if you're planning to join their track days, otherwise I wouldn't bother. For me the 10% parts discount has never been enough to offset the annual sub.
They do like to add a 'premium' though. I did a 'club' day at Blyton Park a few months ago with another Porsche Club with 24 cars @ £125 per driver. The exact same gig with Porsche Club GB was £150 - so PCGB took £600 without offering anything more than the other club.

Porsche Enthusiasts Club. Much smaller, and more ‘regional’ (i.e. only as good as your local region) but they have preferential rates with Classicline, recognised by most OPC parts departments and much cheaper to join (without the ridiculous ‘admin fee’ for first time members).I went to one of the meets and am never going to another, I’m still a member though.
Discount on insurance premium and one free third party valuation a year for an agreed valuation insurance policy makes it worthwhile for me. The magazine usually sits on the coffee table for a good while before I get around to flicking through it then swiftly binning it.

The magazine isn’t the best to be honest, but it has been much better over the last few months than previously.
Usually takes me 15 minutes to scan through, then ends up in the recycling bin. Usually more than half of the content is about different regions activities / meetings. So if reading about folk having a lovely meal at a local pub is your thing then you’ll enjoy the mag.
In my opinion there should be more content about members cars / restorations / projects etc, but each to their own.
I’ve been a member for 6 years & have never been to a local meeting. My region meet at a pub quite a way away & due to work commitments I can never make it. I did express at interest in a local run one weekend but my email got ignored by the Regional Organiser... I did go to the PCGB head office for a car Photography course which was well run & a good day out (at extra cost).
I joined another regions meetings on a couple of occasions due to an invite from a friend & got made very welcome, so I do think that each Region has a different ‘culture’.
TIPEC, from my experience, is perhaps a bit more down to earth with all sorts of Pork owners & no snobbery ( in my experience).
