I'm looking for a webcam to sit on top of my monitor for occasional conference calls. I don't want an overly wide angle lens, and it needs to have good audio quality, I'm less bothered about ultimate video quality.

Looking on Amazon, there are millions of different £30-50 noname models which all look very similar. I've already bought and returned a Wansview device because the audio quality was appalling, and also the lens was wider angle than I really wanted.

Any recommendations ? All I need is something that works as well as a typical laptop camera & mic, so do I really have to pay Logitech £100 to get that ?

I bought a Logitech c270 , cost £25.
Perfect for Teams or Zoom calls.
Much better than the webcam and microphone built into the laptop.

If you want good audio, then get a dedicated conference mic. The audio on my Logitech camera (C920) isn't a patch on what I get from my Jabra conference mic https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jabra-SPEAK-Bluetooth-Por... - unfortunately, yes you do need to pay for quality here. But if decent audio is what you want, this is what you need.

Also - webcams haven't been cheap since March. My C920 was £25 a year ago but has been consistently over £100 since the original lockdown, that's if you can find one in stock.

Thanks for the pointer, but by "good" I suppose I really meant "acceptable" smile For my usage that would be overkill !
