2007-2011 DB9 Manual Conversion Duable?
Discussion
Hello All,
I am finally ready to jump in to the beautiful world of AM ownership.
I wrench on my own vehicles and was wondering if a manual conversion has been done on the 07-11 DB9 before?
I realize that it maybe easier to buy a 6-speed of the bat, but they are thin on the market and most are convertible.
Just trying to explore the option of a conversion.
Has this been done and is there any info? My searches have not yielded any results.
Thank you,

Whilst it is presumably possible it is not like the Vantage where the "Auto" is just a robotised version of the manual gearbox. The DB9 auto is a ZF slush box so the conversion would mean removing the ZF transaxle, installing the Graziano 6 speed manual transaxle, linkages and gear selector and doing all the software stuff/dash changes. That lot would probably cost more than the car so I would keep looking for a manual to be honest.
When I was looking for a DB9 manual, I asked my local AM specialist the same question and he said it isn’t financially viable to do the swap on a DB9. I guess if the price disparity between manual and auto DB9s increases, it may become viable in the future...
Good luck - it’ll be worth the wait.

Didn't someone swap to a manual on a V12V S?
Again, that's a different set of parts than DB9/DBS.
Would potentially make an attractive option on a DBS Volante, or if it would even be possible on the gen 2 vanquish if it was in the 20K range. All depends on price. Who would have thought that works would be offering a manual conversion on the original vanquish years later.
I would think on an automated manual vantage the process would be easier. But the DB9/DBS was offered with a manual, so just comes down to labor and availability of parts. I imagine the Vanquish 310 would be a different animal since none were built manual from factory.
Who knows if graziano is still making the components necessary for the db9....

The V12V S is an automated manual, so you'd keep the gearbox, and put in a gearlever to pull the cables instead of having a set of solenoids pulling the cables, and a pedal to operate the clutch. I think even I could do thatAgain, that's a different set of parts than DB9/DBS.
The DB9 is a conventional automatic gearbox, you'd have to take that out of the car, then buy and fit a clutch, plus a manual gearbox and gearlever, that is a much bigger, more complex and more expensive job. Remember also that the gearbox is at the back of the car, so everything gets a bit more unusual.
I am liking this discussion.
Regarding price difference from my research, it seems to be a viability on the DBS but not the DB9.
I may tackle this if I find a very well priced DBS that’s auto.
I recon the easy part would be sourcing the tranny, pedals and shifter. Hard part possibly making the car like you with a manual tran. Possibly software or change the computer.
This may also kill the value, and DBS is not a cheap car
