Foreign Tax Advisor
Discussion
Hi
My wife has a Netherlands pension investment with Aegon that has been running for 20 years (since we left NL after working there)
The investment matures on 1st Jan 2021, just as we leave the EEA...
This means that we cannot roll over the amount to a new policy, which was the original intention (leave it for another 5 years) as they will not start policies for non EEA residents.
Can anyone recommend a Tax Advisor with good knowledge of UK and NL tax law who could offer advice on the options and best way to proceed.
Worst case scenario seems to be that the cash is paid as a lump sum, and my wife ends up paying 50% tax on the amount, which is very much not the ideal...
