Just had my Q3 serviced. The documentation indicates that Castrol GTX 5w-30 has been used for the replacement engine oil. The service interval on my car is set for 'Audi Long Life Servicing'. Is GTX a suitable oil for this longer service period?

You would need to know the oil specs as there are many, they should have used the correct oil.
Who serviced it?

It could be this stuff - https://www.broughtonlubricants.co.uk/castrol-gtx-... - which would be fine.

Dealers just seem to write any old thing on service invoices, which is odd as there must be a few people who get rattled by seeing a psec that doesn't make sense.

Main dealer? How much did they charge you per litre?

(Likely a VW 504 spec oil. It'll be fine).

Audi used one oil for years regardless of service interval, a fully synth 5w30.

Fixed interval used this.
Longlife used this.

Newer engines use a 0w20 regardless of interval also.
